Sufi and Folk Musical
Australia Culture and Arts (ACA) has been becoming very prominent name in promoting sub continental music and events.
Sufi music is the devotional music of the Sufis mainly from subcontinent , inspired by the works of Sufi poets, like Rumi, Hafiz, Bulleh Shah, Amir Khusrow and Khwaja Ghulam Farid
Sain Zahoor Ahmed is a leading Sufi musician from Pakistan. He has spent most of his life singing in Sufi shrines, and didn’t produce a record until 2006, when he was nominated for the BBC World Music awards based on word of mouth. He emerged as the “best BBC voice of the year 2006”
The folk music invokes the traditions as well as the hardworking nature, bravery and many more things that the people of Punjab get from its gateway-to-India geographical location. Due to the large area with many sub-regions, the folk music has minor lingual differences but invokes the same feelings.
Punjabi folk music in Punjabi is the traditional music on the traditional musical instruments of the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent.
Afsana Khan is the rising Punjabi folk star of the India and very popular in youngsters.
She has become very popular after her song hit 45m Viewers in youtube. Her upcoming songs with mainstream celebrities making her even more popular.
We will see in this event both Sufi and Punjabi Folk and some Bollywood hits by these Legends.
